FCE(T) Bichi Graduates 6,857

The Federal College of Education (Technical) Bichi has conducted it’s 6th combined Convocation ceremony on Saturday the 17th of July, 2021 at the College Convocation Ground.
Speaking at the event, College Provost Professor Bashir Muhammad Fagge mni revealed that a total of 6,857 students have graduated from the College during the years of 2016 to 2020, Professor Bashir also stated that the College is presenting an award to some students who made outstanding performance during their respective years of passing out, adding that some notable personalities will equally be awarded for their immense contributions to the College and the Education Sector.
The Provost has further outlined inadequate funding and decrease in the number of Students enrollment as one of the major challenges affecting the College presently. He equally extended gratitude to the Minister of Education Mal. Adamu Adamu, the Executive Secretary NCCE, Kano State Deputy Governor Nasiru Yusif Gawuna, Jigawa State Governor Badaru Abubakar, Kano State First Lady wife of Kano State Governor Professor Hafsat Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, Distinguished Senator Barau Jibrin, Honorable Kabiru Abba Abubakar and other dignitaries too numerous to mention for sparing their time to attend this important occasion.
In her speech, the Director Colleges of Education Federal Ministry of Education, Mrs Onyeake Nwabgwo who represented the Minister has disclosed that Technical Education occupied an important position for economic development in Nigeria, Mal. Adamu Adamu has emphasized the Federal Government’s commitment to Education which he said will enhance human development, she further added that since the inception of President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration the government has taken measures to repositioned Education, the President was keen on giving Education the needed attention, to buttress this point the Minister added that Government has recently approved the establishment of six additional Colleges of Education across the geopolitical zones in the Country to bridge the gap between teacher education.
Speaking Earlier, the Deputy Governor of Kano state Dr. Nasiru Yusif Gawuna who represented the Executive Governor of Kano state has stated that Education remains a priority in their administration, he said they have made basic education compulsory in the state and they are working tirelessly to ensure the attainment of such objective across all levels of education in the state.
Also Speaking at occasion the Executive Secretary NCCE Professor Paulinus Chijioke Okwelle has disclosed that it was a privilege to be part of this historic event. He also expressed his delight to be back to the College after his long exit, as a former lecturer in the college adding that ” i have seen the hard work stakeholders put in the transformation of the College,” he also said the event will be a memorable one, “I urged you to continue to make more sacrifice for the continual development of the institution” he said, he appreciated the College Community for creating a serene environment where academic activities will continue to flourish.
Award of Excellence was subsequently presented to notable individuals in recognition of their immense contributions to the College over time, the awardees are:
1.) Wife of Kano State Governor Professor Hafsat Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, Governor 2.)Badaru Abubakar of Jigawa State,
3.)Senator Bara’u Jibrin representing Kano North, 4.)Honorable Abubakar Kabiru Abubakar Member House of Representative Bichi Federal Constituency,
5.)Dr. Mairo Usman Mandara Consultant, Obstetrician & Gynaecologist and
6.) Dr. Babangida Hussaini (Walin Kazaure) Permanent Secretary Federal Ministry of Works & Housing.
